Rodri calls for Man City teammates to reflect on individual performances after Chelsea draw

Rodri believes Manchester City weren't themselves in Sunday's dramatic draw with Chelsea and called on his teammates to reflect on their individual performances.

City played out a thrilling 4-4 draw with Chelsea but came away the more disappointed side after going ahead three times. Erling Haaland opened the scoring from the penalty spot before Chelsea turned things around but Manuel Akanji's header ensured all was square at the break.

Haaland slid in his second 90 seconds after the restart but the home side struck back through Nicolas Jackson. Rodri then looked to have won the game with his late, deflected strike but there was one last twist in the tale. Ruben Dias gave away a penalty deep into added time and former Blue Cole Palmer stepped up to fire it home.

Rodri credited Chelsea for turning the match into one of transitions to unsettle City but was disappointed with how his side approached the game. "I think we wasn't at our best performance today," he told Sky Sports.

"I think we individually we could look more to ourselves to concede four goals is not normal for us but at the same time we keep pushing. Sometimes football is like this. You have to move forward and then try to score. In the end, we score four but I think the result stings."

"We played what they want. They want to play quick transitions and they have better players, the better team in that situation. They have faster players, stronger, we have another type of players we have to move the game to our sight, try to play our game and I think we will struggle."
