Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino apologises to Pep Guardiola after heated Man City finale
Mauricio Pochettino apologised to Pep Guardiola and to the match officials after losing his temper at the end of a thrilling encounter between Manchester City and Chelsea.
Cole Palmer's penalty in the fifth minute of injury time drew Chelsea level to make it 4-4 after Rodri thought he had won the game with his late effort that was deflected in off Thiago Silva. Guardiola was left waiting though as Pochettino forgot to shake the City manager's hand as he instead went off to remonstrate with the officials.
Guardiola insisted that he took no offence from the incident. "No problem. It's not a problem," he said.

"I don't want to say one word. It's fine. The emotions happen to me sometimes. It's fine. Don't misunderstand me. In the past it happened with Pochettino and I don't want it. It's completely fine."
However, the Chelsea boss held his hands up in his press conference and said he had been livid that the final whistle was blown when he thought Raheem Sterling had the chance to go through and score another goal.
"I need to apologise to Anthony [Taylor] and the refs and the fourth officials because in this moment I felt that maybe Raheem can go and score the fifth," he said. "And in this moment I turn to Anthony and say what the ..... is going on, why did you stop at this moment?!
"When I turned, I said I deserved to be booked because I crossed the limit but I want to apologise because it's not a good image for me. I want to apologise to [Guardiola] also because in this moment I didn't see him, I was only focused on the reaction."
