Rochelle Humes returns to This Morning in place of Holly Willoughby after being praised for 'special' BAFTAs moment

Rochelle Humes is stepping into Holly Willoughby's spot on This Morning as the show kickstarts a new week. Viewers may have expected to see Phillip Schofield back at the helm of Monday's show (May 9) with his usual co-host.

But prior to the programme going live, former Saturdays singer turned presenter Rochelle confirmed that she would be joining Phillip, 60, for the first edition of the ITV daytime show of the week.

The 33-year-old first took to Instgaram to confirm her appearance on Sunday night (May 8) after whizzing back from attending the BAFTA TV Awards 2022. Rochelle hit the red carpet alongside husband Marvin Humes before hosting an award at the star-studded ceremony alongside Clara Amfo.

Returning home, and ditching her stunning sheer lace gown for an orange dressing gown, Rochelle said in a video to her millions of followers: "I've just spoke to my friend and she's laughing because I'm already home, I'm making soup... I've got This Morning tomorrow so I didn't do the after-party thing, I didn't do the dinner."

She added: "I wanted to be fresh for you tomorrow [Monday] so I'm already here, making my soup, putting the kids to bed. That was quick turnaround for me. I'm impressed."

She was then back on the Gram nice and early Monday morning as she made her way to the ITV studio, sharing a photo of her script which was branded with the This Morning logo at the top before saying: "Presented by Phillip Schofield and Rochelle Humes."

Her appearance on the popular daytime show comes after she was praised by BAFTA viewers for a 'special' moment as she presented the Virgin Media's Must-See Moment at the 2022 BAFTA TV
