ITV This Morning viewers baffled by Manchester couple who got together because guy looks like Ed Sheeran

This Morning fans were soon flocking to social media to react to a couple who ended up together because of a woman's love for Ed Sheeran.

Opening Thursday's show, Holly Willoughby welcomed viewers to the ITV daytime programme before saying: "We're starting today with a woman who has ended up dating her pop star idol... kind of." Co-host Phillip Schofield then continued: "After joining with her friends that she'd get engaged to Ed Sheeran, in a strange twist of fate Amanda Baron has actually ended up in a relationship with his doppelganger, Ty Jones, and they're now expecting a baby."

As Phillip finished his sentence the pair popped up on the screen from Amanda's home in Manchester and even the hosts were stunned. "It's ridiculous," Holly laughed as Phillip remarked: "Good Lord... it's just extraordinary."

The 60-year-old TV presenter then kicked off his questions by asking Amanda: "Ed Sheeran fan for as long as he's been there... what is it about Ed?" she then replied without much hesitation: "It's his ginger-ness." As Phil asked her if "that's it" she explained that when people used to call him she'd sit there and think, 'What are you on about?' he's fit!'"

Holly went on to ask about how the pair met, but not before remarking that as she sat and spoke to them via video link she could believe they have Ed Sheeran on the programme.

Ty explained that his likeness for the worldwide pop star has landed him a full-time job and even met the man himself around 10 years ago. But talk soon turned back to the couple as they had exciting news to share.
