Ridvan Yilmaz sparks Rangers injury sweat as Philippe Clement dealt ANOTHER blow with Celtic clash looming

Rangers facing a fresh injury sweat after Ridvan Yilmaz limped out of Turkey duty.

The left-back was a late call up to Vincenzo Montella’s squad after he was initially overlooked for this week’s friendly clashes against Scotland’s Euro 2024 foes Hungary and Austria. But the Ibrox ace last just 27 minutes on his return after he was thrown straight in for his seventh cap against the Magyars in Budapest. Yilmaz had to be replaced by Fenerbahce’s Mert Muldur midway through the first half at the Puskas Arena after pulling up while clutching his left thigh.

News of another injury concern is the last thing Gers boss Philippe Clement will need as he prepares for the Light Blues’ return to action against Hibs on Saturday. The big Belgian is already without Abdallah Sima, Oscar Cortes, Ryan Jack, Kieran Dowell and Danilo for a match that could see the Ibrox side reclaim the Premiership’s top spot.
