Neil Lennon brands Rangers 'moral win' MEANINGLESS as Celtic legend 'disappointed' by Philippe Clement claim

Neil Lennon has hit out at Philippe Clement over his Old Firm 'moral victory' claim.

The Rangers boss made the declaration post-match after a colossal derby encounter at Ibrox that saw his side fight back twice to secure a share of the points in a six-goal thriller and keep the destiny of the Scottish Premiership title in their own hands. Speaking after the pulsating 3-3 draw, Clement claimed his team were the 'moral winners', gushing with pride at his side's performance. But Lennon was having none of it and insists in the Old Firm you either win it or lose it as he expressed his disappointment in what he heard from the Belgian.

Speaking on PLZ Soccer, he said: "I was disappointed with someone's comments after the game yesterday. I didn't agree with it. I don't know what a moral victory means in an Old Firm derby, If you ever get one. You either win it or you lose it."

Clement had said after the game: “Second half we showed our real face. We showed the real things that I want to see, this never stopping team that has a lot of resilience, a lot of hunger, desire, to change the result. We deserve and clearly deserve at least a point today with what we have shown. I think at the end we are moral winners because a few months ago, for sure, this team could not have reacted after 2-0 in an Old Firm.

“I don’t know if many teams in the past could have done it. It is a hard thing in a very important game to go 2-0 behind to also feel the disappointment of your fans when you go into the dressing room to turn that around. Because of that I am really proud of my boys.”
