Philippe Clement unloads on 'crazy' Rangers waiting game AND slams Dundee’s 'solution' to delay by a week

Philippe Clement admits it's a 'crazy' situation Rangers find themselves in as they wait to see if their game with Dundee can be played – and says it's not a great look for Scottish football.

Rangers are looking to retake top spot in the Premiership with their trip to Dens as they look to fulfil their game in hand over Celtic on Wednesday. But despite chairman John Nelms and manager Tony Docherty reassuring fans the game will be played as planned, the weather forecast in that part of the country is ringing alarm bells with Dundee postponing four home games so far this season due to the pitch.

Their home clash with Rangers was initially pencilled in for March 21 but it was infamously called off just two hours before kick-off, much to Clement's dismay. And the boss admits there's some anxiety despite the reassuring noises coming out of Dens Park.

Record Sport revealed on Monday night that Dundee are working on contingency plans for if the game cannot be played. And while Dundee's line is that they are not planning for the worst, Clement has called for 'solutions' to get the match on.

He said at his press conference: "It's a crazy situation, we are going to travel now and stay (overnight) but we don't know for sure if the game is on. It's a bad situation for the league. We have to find a good solution to get this game played. If it was moved to next week we could find ourselves in the same situation once again if it rains.

"The club has been in talks with Dundee and the league as we want a good football game to go ahead. They are in a battle for the top six, creating a lot of chances. So it will be a big test against a good team."
