Rico Lewis earns England call-up as Jurgen Klopp bemoans Man City kick-off time

Manchester City entered the international break on Sunday in dramatic fashion following a 4-4 draw with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

City were both ahead and behind against Mauricio Pochettino's side this weekend but thought they had finally put the game to bed in the 86th minute thanks to Rodri. However, ex-City winger Cole Palmer came back to haunt the Blues deep into second-half stoppage time as he blasted home a spot kick to share the spoils.

The draw at the Bridge extended City's advantage to one point at the summit and now Pep Guardiola will be hoping the Blues' international contingent will avoid injuries with their national teams. In MEN Sport's headlines, City have discovered there will be a new player gaining their first-ever full call-up.

City star Rico Lewis has earned his first senior call-up to the England squad and will be joined by former teammate Cole Palmer.

Lewis is a late addition to Gareth Southgate's side, following injuries to the likes of James Maddison, Jude Bellingham and Callum Wilson. The 18-year-old was initially due to be part of Lee Carsley's under-21s side but the call-up comes after his continued excellent form with City.

Guardiola's side host Liverpool at the Etihad in their next game, which will follow the November international break. The clash will now be between the top two after Klopp's side beat Brentford on Sunday, leapfrogging Arsenal and Tottenham.
