Report on how paedophile headteacher was able to abuse girls set to be released - live updates
A report into how a paedophile head teacher was able to sexually abuse young girls for years is finally set to be released.
Neil Foden, who was the headteacher at Ysgol Friars in Bangor was jailed in 2024 for 17 years after being convicted of 19 charges involving four girls.
The disgraced former teacher was called a "bully" and described as "depraved" and "arrogant" when he was sentenced by the trial judge in July 2024 after a month-long trial.
Following the imprisonment of 68-year-old Foden, a Child Practice Review into his crimes was commissioned by North Wales Safeguarding Board.
Led by an independent Chair, Jan Pickles, and two reviewers, the report aims to address failings and identify steps that can be taken by Safeguarding Board partners such as the police, local authorities, health or other bodies, to achieve improvements in multi-agency child protection practice.
The report was due to be released last month but this was postponed at the last minute. It is now due to be published at 3pm today.
