Major emergency services response to incident in Blackwood – live updates

There is a large emergency services presence in a residential street in a Welsh town after reports of a serious incident in the early hours of this morning.

Two air ambulances landed in Wheatley Place in Cefn Fforest, Blackwood, at around 7.30am on November 13. Emergency services issued advanced critical care support and police, including a crime scene investigations unit, remain at the scene.

A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called today at approximately 7.23am to reports of a medical emergency near Wheatley Place, Blackwood.

“We sent two emergency ambulances, one Cymru High Acuity Response Unit, and two operations managers to the scene.

“Advanced critical care support was delivered by the Emergency Medical Retrieval and Transfer Service in two Wales Air Ambulance charity helicopters.”
