'Redemption' - National media react to Manchester United's dramatic Champions League victory

On a night where Manchester United's legendary midfielder Sir Bobby Charlton was remembered, the Reds produced a vital victory in his honour in the Champions League.

Having lost their opening two matches in the competition, Erik ten Hag's side needed to beat FC Copenhagen to stand any chance of progression through to the knockout stages. After a lacklustre first half, the Reds hit the front on 72 minutes thanks to Harry Maguire's powerful header.

Andre Onana rescued the three points for United with the last touch of the game, saving Jordan Larsson's penalty to spark ecstatic scenes at the Theatre of Dreams. On another big European night under the lights, here is how the national press reacted to the win.

Miguel Delaney at The Independent wrote: "As Larsson stepped up for that final kick, it felt like Onana was the only person in Old Trafford who was any way calm. He stood there in a composed manner, as Steve McClaren shouted instructions, and Alejandro Garnacho walked away in the knowledge no one on the pitch had noticed him scuffing the penalty spot.

"Accompanying all that was a will that Onana be the difference, not just that Larsson miss. It could be sensed in the deafening roar that greeted his eventual save, as the goalkeeper guessed right to send it wide.
