Real Life of Coronation Street's Glenda Shuttleworth actress Jodie Prenger - Disney past, tragic loss, off-screen love and 'feral' home life

Coronation Street fans will soon see the 'scariest thing' Jodie Prenger has had to film as terrifying scenes are set to air in the ITV soap. Viewers were introduced to the actress' character Glenda Shuttleworth in 2022. She is the 'fun and sassy' sister of George, played by Tony Maudsley, who made his first appearance in Weatherfield back in 2020.

And making her debut as Glenda fulfilled a dream of Josie, who first came to viewers' attention as the winner of BBC series I'd Do Anything in 2008. Her family have always been big Corrie fans and even have a link to one of the soap's icons.

She previously told the Manchester Evening News: "My family are from Manchester, all from Moss Side and they used to have a laundrette and a café shop and my Nan's brother used to deliver Pat Phoenix's groceries." Getting tearful, Jodie added: "My nan, Terry Doyle, she worshipped Elsie Tanner.

In an upcoming scene, Jodie's bubbly character is set to be rocked when she witnesses a burglary in the Rovers Return where she has settled as one of the barmaids, while living with landlady Jenny Connor and co-owner Daisy Midgeley. With Jenny heading off to a posh dinner with Rita Tanner and Daisy going away with Ryan Connor, a glammed-up Glenda agrees to host the speed dating night at the Rovers.

The night is lacking in romance aside from Daisy's mum Christina taking a shine to a guy with a tattoo. Soon, with the chaos of the evening over and the pub closed, Glenda heads through to the bar to find masked burglars raiding the till. One of the men orders Glenda to get down
