Coronation Street fans send stern warning to character after 'horrid' Roy Cropper move

Coronation Street fans were quick to issue a stern warning to one character following the latest trip to the cobbles over their 'horrid' move towards Roy Cropper. The much-loved cafe owner is currently facing a rough time after coming under suspicion of being involved in Lauren Bolton's disappearance.

The teenager has been missing since the end of February and the cafe owner has been the prime suspect in her disappearance - which soon became a murder probe. Roy became DS Lisa Swain’s number one suspect since he misguidedly deep-cleaned Lauren’s flat after she mysteriously disappeared.

And while Daniel Osbourne has also been questioned, it's Roy who has been most under suspicion by the police and true crime ghouls online. During Monday night's (April 8) trip to the cobbles, the street stalwart was seen answering the phone to receive another volley of abuse and quickly retreated upstairs.

Over at No.8, Nick Tilsley and Shona Platt were discussing the dreadful abuse that Roy’s having to deal with and how he's now concerned for the safety of his staff and doesn't want them in the cafe alone with him.

Overhearing the conversation, Sam shared how he wished he could pay Roy a visit but Nick told him he didn't think it was a good idea. Sam then lied to Shona and told her that he was going round to see Hope Stap, but instead, he called at the café and suggested to Roy they have a game of chess.

But when Roy discovered Nick wasn't on board with their meeting, he marched Sam back to the Bistro and apologised. Nick wasn't happy and after he asked Shona to take Sam
