'Ready for a masterpiece' - Man United fans react to Anthony Martial news vs Nottingham Forest

Manchester United fans have expressed their delight at Anthony Martial being selected to start for the first time this season against Nottingham Forest

Martial missed pre-season after suffering a muscle tear last term prior to the FA Cup final. The Frenchman finally resumed full training ahead of last weekend's defeat to Tottenham and played five minutes in north London.

There was a feeling that the forward's time at United may be coming to an end due to his injury problems. But United supporters have received a pleasant surprise this afternoon as the striker starts against Forest.

Taking to X, here is what the United fans had to say.

Elsewhere, the Reds are without Mason Mount for the visit of Forest. The former Chelsea man suffered an injury this week and Ten Hag believes the attacking midfielder will be out of action until September. He has been replaced by Christian Eriksen.

Rasmus Hojlund's long-awaited debut for United will not come today. The Dane joined in with team training for the first time at Carrington this week and could make his Premier League bow at Arsenal next Sunday.

Antony, Marcus Rashford and Diogo Dalot all start, with the latter filling in for the injured Luke Shaw. There is also a familiar face in the opponent's camp this afternoon as ex-Red Anthony Elanga is named as a substitute. So far this season, the Swede has managed to grab an assist in his first two appearances for the club.

United's Adidas home shirt is made up of the same colour of the city's iconic red rose and features a black collar. The collar also features a dash of both red and white, giving it a slick and modernised look.

Prices start from £55
