Rasmus Hojlund hint ahead of Arsenal clash and more things spotted in Manchester United training

Manchester United are gearing up for their toughest test of the season so far as they prepare to face Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

The two teams are only separated by a point but spirits in north London are much higher than in M16. While Arsenal were held to a draw at Fulham last time out, there is optimism over another good season. Meanwhile, United have started the season sluggishly despite two wins.

A narrow victory over Wolves was followed by a defeat to Tottenham before United had to stage a comeback from two goals down against Nottingham Forest in Saturday’s 3-2 win.

In training on Tuesday, Anthony Martial was seen continuing to work his way back up to peak fitness after starting his first match of the season against Forest. Several other things were also spotted.

Academy product Willy Kambwala was seen taking part in senior training this week. The 19-year-old came on for 16 minutes in the loss to Wrexham on the US tour and is yet to make a competitive first-team matchday squad.

Kambwala joined from Sochaux’s youth system in 2020 before signing his first professional contract in October 2021. The teenager was seen smiling while chatting to Martial ahead of Tuesday’s session.

Jonny Evans trained with his teammates as speculation continues around a potential new deal. The Northern Irishman signed a short-term deal in pre-season after training at Carrington following his exit from Leicester.

No new deal has yet been announced but Erik ten Hag confirmed recently that talks are ongoing.
