Two winners and two losers from Manchester United comeback victory over Nottingham Forest

Manchester United completed a welcome victory over Nottingham Forest on Saturday but it was not the dominant display many fans had hoped for.

Inside four minutes it looked like United would be under the microscope for yet another week when Taiwo Awoniyi and Willy Boly gave the visitors a solid lead. Christian Eriksen pulled one back for the hosts just over 10 minutes later which turned the tide.

Casemiro equalised after the break and Forest were down to 10 men midway through the half when Joe Worrall was dismissed. After Marcus Rashford was fouled in the area Bruno Fernandes dispatched the winner to secure the three points.

While there were positives to be taken from the victory, Erik ten Hag will be looking to rectify some of the errors that led to a nervy afternoon at Old Trafford. With this in mind, MEN Sport has taken a look at the winners and losers from Saturday's victory.

Bruno Fernandes

All eyes were on Fernandes this weekend after the scrutiny he received post-Tottenham Hotspur last weekend. The Portuguese attacking midfielder did not cover himself in glory after the final whistle and there were calls from some quarters to strip him of the captaincy.

While such a reaction would have blown matters out of proportion, it was important Fernandes responded on the pitch and he did. The 28-year-old showed why Ten Hag holds so much faith in him and inspired United's comeback.

The Reds' supporters will be hoping for more of the same next weekend at Arsenal.
