Rasmus Hojlund sends message to Manchester United fans after defeat vs Bayern Munich

Rasmus Hojlund is determined to take positives from Wednesday evening's 4-3 Champions League defeat at Bayern Munich after scoring his first goal for Manchester United.

Erik ten Hag's side were well beaten at the Allianz Arena, despite a late fight back which made the scoreline more palatable. A strong start quickly faded when Leroy Sane's weak effort rolled through a hapless Andre Onana just before the half-hour mark, with Serge Gnabry doubling Bayern's lead within four minutes.

Hojlund pulled one back for United with a first goal since joining in the summer, his instinctive effort deflecting off Dayot Upamecano and past Sven Ulreich. The 20-year-old celebrated bullishly in front of the Bayern ultras but his side were two goals down almost instantly, Harry Kane arrowing home a penalty after Christian Eriksen was penalised for handball.

A chaotic end to the game saw Casemiro score twice, however they came either side of a clinical finish from Bayern substitute Mathys Tel. Defeat was the third in a row for United but Hojlund remains positive.

Alongside some pictures of the night on his official Instagram account, Hojlund wrote: "Definitely something positive we can take away from the game yesterday. we stand in this together. Full focus on Saturday!"

Hojlund got 80 minutes in Munich as he continues to work towards full match fitness. The Danish international has seen his minutes carefully increased since returning from a stress fracture in his back.
