Brentford boss Thomas Frank heaps praise on Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund

Thomas Frank is delighted to see fellow Dane Rasmus Hojlund hit the ground running at Manchester United - although he is hoping to keep him quiet this afternoon.

United host Brentford at Old Trafford looking to end their worst start to a season for 39 years. Erik ten Hag's side have lost six of their opening 10 matches across all competitions, with Tuesday's 3-2 defeat against Galatasaray leaving them bottom of their Champions League group.

Hojlund scored both goals that night and has been the shining light in an otherwise dismal few weeks for the Reds, having got off the mark in front of goal and provided a presence up top that has been lacking. Frank is always happy to see fellow Danes succeed but the Brentford boss is hoping to see his compatriot struggle later today.

"I know he is not playing for Brentford, but I am Danish and I'm happy to see Danish players coming through and doing well," Frank admitted. "I must say he was impressive against Galatasaray, two very good goals, he looks like he is in a very good place and hopefully we can keep him quiet on Saturday.

"It is a fine balance for me. I want the Danish national team to do well and that is why I am happy Danish players are doing well except when we are playing against them."

Despite still being just 20-years-old, Hojlund is seen as a late developer in Denmark. The striker only made his national team debut in September last year but already has six goals in eight caps.
