Christian Eriksen offers cheeky advice to Manchester United teammate Rasmus Hojlund

Christian Eriksen has been impressed by Rasmus Hojlund's first months at Manchester United but has joked that he needs to start scoring even more goals for his new club.

United took a risk when they made a £72 million move for the young striker in the summer transfer window, having been priced out of a move for dream target Harry Kane.

Hojlund's start to life at his new club was hampered by injury, but since breaking into the side, he has shown signs of encouragement and netted three goals in the Champions League so far.

The Danish forward is still looking for his first domestic goal for the club, though Eriksen is not concerned and has been excited by what he has seen so far.

"I think Rasmus has been a wise purchase. He's a guy who fits into the squad, fits into the way of playing, understands the coach's ideas, and he's a good guy who works hard," Eriksen told reporters at a press conference.

When asked what the summer signing could do to improve, his compatriot joked: "He could score a few more goals! He is very mature in his approach to things. Of course, he sometimes says some things that are... youth things, but he has his head in the right place."

Eriksen has played a key role in helping Hojlund settle into life at his new club, with the duo spending plenty of time together away from the pitch.

He added: "We've been out to eat; he's been over at my house, and we see each other every day at the club.

"He doesn't need to be put in place. I have given him my advice, and he has chosen to live close to the stadium and the training facility, so he has listened there."
