Rasmus Hojlund reaction to Kobbie Mainoo substitution in Man United vs Burnley spotted

Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund appeared to show his surprise at the decision to take off teammate Kobbie Mainoo against Burnley, with some sections of the crowd airing their dissatisfaction.

With the scoreline locked at 0-0 going into the final 25 minutes at Old Trafford, Erik ten Hag decided to turn to his bench to look for a way for his team to take an advantage in the game. Hojlund was replaced by Amad, with Mainoo coming off for Scott McTominay.

But the decision to make those particular changes didn’t go down too well with some members of the crowd, with audible boos heard when the announcement in replacing Mainoo was made. At the time, Hojlund was making his way around the pitch after being taken off just seconds earlier.

As he walked by fans clapping, one supporter was able to capture the forward’s reaction to both the substitution of Mainoo and the boos that followed. In the clip Hojlund appears to slightly puff out his cheeks in an expression that suggests he’s surprised by the decision, or the reaction from the crowd.

Ten Hag and United may have thought that the changes had paid off when Antony gave them the lead in the 79th minute. But Burnley were given a chance to level from the penalty spot with just three minutes remaining when Andre Onana clattered Zeki Amdouni in the box, the Swiss international stepped up himself and made no mistake from the spot.
