Rangers tease orange and navy third kit as fans get hyped over throwback to 1993/94 classic

Rangers have teased the launch of their new third kid - and fans are predicting a throwback to a classic from 30 years ago.

The club posted a close up picture showing navy and orange stripes and supporters are convinced it's going to be similar to the strip worn during the 1993/94 season.

That was also the third choice strip for Walter Smith's side during the season they won title number six of their nine-in-a-row run. They also lifted the League Cup but just came up short in their quest for back to back trebles as they lost the Scottish Cup final to Dundee United. But Rangers endured their worst result of the season while sporting that third kit 30 years ago when they lost a last-gasp sickener against Levski Sofia in Bulgaria to send them crashing out of the Champions League.

Rangers have promised the big reveal at 9am on Friday morning and supporters believe it will be similar to that 1993/94 strip with many taking to social media to post photos from that era. One wrote on social media: "That'll be me not sleeping a wink tonight now, cheers Rangers." Another added: "Think I love it already."
