Michael Beale rules Rangers duo Yilmaz and Davies OUT of Servette clash as he issues Champions League millions challenge

Michael Beale has told his Rangers players to land the most lucrative prize in club football as he urged them to put bounce back from their Kilmarnock shocker and see off Servette at Ibrox to move a step closer to the Champions League play-off round.

The Light Blues are looking to line up a shot at PSV Eindhoven or Sturm Graz in the play-off round and beating the Swiss side would guarantee around £5 million in a UEFA bonus but crucially they would be 180 minutes from the group stage and the chance to bank around £25m, as they did last season.

Gritty Servette defied the odds to beat Genk in the last round and Beale - still without Ridvan Yilmaz and Ben Davies, while confirming Fashion Sakala is close to a move to Saudi - said: “Champions League finance is the biggest you can get in club football - it took a lot of effort to get back into the competition but it is something a club like Rangers strives for.

“Genk were a dangerous team and it was a good competition to watch between two good sides. We know Servette have plenty of fight, so both challenges at home and in Geneva will be great games.

“We were frustrated with the weekend but we don’t have time to dwell - tomorrow is very important - we trust the fans will be right behind the team at Ibrox. The games at this level are always tough - we are not looking any further than the game
