Rangers receive astonishing Jefte scouting report from forgotten man Dalcio that comes with only one warning

No pressure, Jefte. But that’s how highly rated Rangers’ new signing is by a former player who didn’t hit the heights himself at Ibrox. Dalcio spent a solitary year on loan in Govan during the ill-fated Pedro Caixinha reign in 2017. In a disastrous campaign for the club, the Benfica winger was only ever on the periphery at Rangers.

But he’s predicting the opposite to happen for his former APOEL team-mate. Dalcio and Jefte have been team-mates at the Cypriot side for the last year. And the Brazilian full-back has just landed a dream move to Gers after becoming gaffer Philippe Clement’s first signing of the summer. Jefte looks like being a poster boy for a change in the club’s recruitment drive. Belgian talent spotter Nils Koppen has been tasked with finding young, hungry players with limitless sell-on value. And Dalcio believes his pal could make Rangers a tidy profit in years to come.

He hailed Jefte’s skillset and compared him to current skipper Tavernier, which will no doubt excite the Ibrox support. He told MailSport: “Jefte’s a very good player, really offensive. He’ll bring speed and goals to Rangers. And he’s young so he’ll learn. He’s still developing and Rangers can bring the best out of him. He will improve at Ibrox. He’s a good player now but has so much potential to get better. He came to APOEL as a young player and was thrown straight into a top league.

“Of course, for the first three or four months it was difficult for him as he adapted. But, after that, he was an amazing left-back for us. Rangers aren’t paying a lot of money for Jefte now. But in the future he can be anything he wants to be. Everything depends on Jefte himself. If
