Thomas Galdames played what is almost certainly his final game for Godoy Cruz as the Rangers target opened up on the tough demands of Argentinian football that made him physically SICK.
Chilean stopper Galdames - who is set to make his international debut next month for Chile - grabbed two assists and produced a Man of the Match performance as he helped his side to a 4-0 Copa Argentina win against El Porvenir. And the 25-year-old appeared to hint afterwards it could be his farewell appearance for the Argentinian side with Philippe Clement, along an unnamed club in the Ibrox manager's native Belgium, strongly linked with a move for the Chilean stopper.
Galdames posted an Argentinian song on his social media site which is traditionally sung to say farewell - and the Scottish Premiership could be his destination. He revealed last month how tough it was for him when he first arrived in Argentina from his local side in Chile, Union Espanola.
He recalled: "When I first signed for Godoy, we drove down with my dad and my brother - both of whom had played in Argentinian football. We were drinking and they told me about the demands they put on you here. I laughed it off. They told me that if I didn't be professional, I wouldn't last.
"Well, in my first week, I vomited twice during the training sessions! In Argentina, the training is even more intense than the games. I changed my diet a lot , especially in terms of pasta. Here they only eat pasta on game day, the rest of the days they are very light meals, like vegetables, proteins, salads.
