Rangers have Joan Jordan transfer bid 'accepted' by Sevilla as only one things stands between top target and Ibrox

Rangers are awaiting Joan Jordan to rubber-stamp a move to Ibrox after they reportedly had a bid accepted for their No..1 transfer target.

The 30-year-old is top of Philppe Clement's wanted list in midfield and the out of favour star is expected to leave Sevilla this month. A report in Spain states a loan with an option to buy for £3.4million next summer has been approved by the La Liga big-hitters. Rangers boss Clement has been seeking new faces and Jordan fits the profile of fellow new arrival Vaclav Cerny in first-team ready options with the likes of Connor Goldson, Ianis Hagi and potentially Todd Cantwell heading for the exit door.

Jordan was a regular for Sevilla but he saw his minutes reduced last term. Clement was cagey when pressed on incomings and outgoings as he spoke to the media in the wake of his side's bonkers 4-4 draw with Union Berlin in Germany on Saturday. When he pressed, he said: “That is a good question as a journalist but you know I can't answer that because as long as there is no pen on paper, there is nothing in this world. It can be five minutes, five weeks… I don’t know, but there will be other signings.”
