Rangers assistant shocked as Ross County call off has Philippe Clement lieutenant racking his brains

Stephan Van Der Heyden has shared his shock at Rangers' match with Ross County being postponed.

The Ibrox No 2 took to social media after Gers confirmed the Premiership clash had been canned. The pitch was playable, but travel chaos caused by Storm Gerrit meant the Staggies couldn't make it down the snowbound A9 in time for the game to go ahead. Derek Adams' men only set off for Glasgow at around lunchtime despite weather warnings and road conditions proving tricky across the country.

Now Van Der Heyden has been left racking his brains to think when he last had a game called off. The Belgian's playing career took him to the Netherlands and France after his homeland, while his last two coaching roles saw him operating in sunnier climes with Kerala Blasters in Indian and the Jordan national team. But after joining Philippe Clement's backroom staff, he's been given a rare night off due to to the weather.

He quoted the club's official statement on X with his own message: "Can not even remember when I had a game postponed..."
