Rangers, Aberdeen, Hearts and Hibs rearranged fixtures as SPFL announce reshuffle for Viaplay Cup semi finalists
The SPFL have announced new dates for the Viaplay Cup semi-finalists and finalists.
Reaching the last four has resulted in one fixture change while finalists Rangers and Aberdeen have had two games rescheduled.
Rangers boss Philippe Clement has won four domestic games in a five-game unbeaten run since replacing Michael Beale. And the latest 3-1 victory over Hearts at Hampden set up a a Hampden date with Aberdeen in December and a first chance of silverware for the Belgian. He'll take on Barry Robson's Reds at the national. Stadium on Sunday, December 17 after the Dons overcame Hibs last Saturday, despite being reduced to 10 men.
The final, and of course last weekend's semis, have a knock-on effect on Premiership fixtures. The Light Blues had been due to take on St Johnstone, but that match has now be rearranged for Wednesday, December 20 (kick-off 7.45pm), which will pit Clement up against new Saints boss Craig Levein. A scheduled clash with Hibs on the weekend of the final has also been pushed back, now taking place on Wednesday, January 24 (kick-off 7.45pm).
The Dons have also seen games moved back. They will face Livingston on Wednesday, December 20 at Pittodrie (kick-off 7.45pm) and make the trip to Perth for a meeting with St Johnstone on Wednesday, January 24 (kick-off 7.45pm).
Beaten semi-finalists Hearts have also had a new date with their scheduled league game against Dundee confirmed.
