Ramsgate confirm the departure of record goalscorer Joe Taylor for the second time this year as deals galore announced

Record goalscorer Joe Taylor has left Ramsgate for the second time this year as the Isthmian Premier club announce a host of deals.

Taylor rejoined the Rams in September, having had spells at Hornchurch and Billericay after leaving Southwood at the end of last season.

He scored eight goals in 16 appearances following his return, but the 34-year-old’s latest stint with his hometown club has ended just before Christmas.

Having broken Micky Williamson’s verified club record of 120 towards the end of the 2023/24 season, Taylor departs Southwood with his 178 Ramsgate goals to his name.

“We can confirm that Joe Taylor has today left the club,” said a Rams statement.

“Joe leaves us on great terms, a true club legend, and his contributions over three spells at the club will never be forgotten.”

Taylor said: “Thank you to Ramsgate. Helped me on and off the pitch this season after a turbulent start for me.

“Hopefully will now find a new club to settle at.”

It’s been a busy couple of days for Ramsgate, who are in league action at Dulwich Hamlet on Saturday.

Boss Lee Martin has completed three new signings, made a loan deal permanent and sealed two new contracts, while also saying goodbye to Josh Ajayi, who has left in search of regular football.

Joining the Rams are goalkeeper Dillon Addai, striker Solomon Ogunwomoju and midfielder Eze Ebuzoeme.

Addai joins on a 28-day loan deal from Bromley, having also had a brief spell at Southwood last season, Ogunwomoju arrives after scoring 46 goals in 132 games for Redbridge, and Ebuzoeme starts his second spell with the Rams after signing from Martin’s old club, Welling.

Ramsgate have turned defender Henry Lukombo’s loan from Dover into a permanent move, the former Sittingbourne man signing
