PSG sporting director 'has met' with Paul Pogba and other Manchester United rumours

Paul Pogba could be on his way to Paris Saint-Germain once his Manchester United contract expires this summer.

The Manchester Evening News broke the news that the French giants had tabled an offer to Pogba last week. The midfielder was open to the idea of moving back to his homeland but preferred to see whether a route to Juventus was open first.

Real Madrid were once linked with a move for the World Cup winner but speculation has cooled since the exit of Zinedine Zidane. And it seems the door to Juventus is also shut with Pogba now reportedly ‘keen’ on signing for PSG.

The Italian club are having to balance the books after struggling financially during the pandemic. In order to facilitate the arrival of Pogba, they would have to offload a number of other players to free up wages.

But a report from Foot Mercato says that the player is focused on a move back to France, which may infer Juventus were unable or unwilling to facilitate a pathway. In fact, the source says he is PSG’s primary target and that sporting director Leonardo has ‘already met him’.

The Ligue 1 leaders believe there is not much competition for Pogba due to his massive wage demands. This comes after the 29-year-old reportedly refused to sign a new mega-money deal with United in October.

Meanwhile, Brazilian outlet O Tempo say United have pulled out of the race to sign Torino defender Gleison Bremer. The 25-year-old has caught the eye in Serie A this season, missing just two league games.
