PSG eye Man City transfer target Erling Haaland as Kylian Mbappe replacement and other rumours

Manchester City target Erling Haaland has reportedly become Paris Saint-Germain's primary target should they lose Kylian Mbappe.

The highly-rated French attacker has been at contractual loggerheads with the Parisiens for a number of moves after his future was flung into uncertainty after failing to agree to an extension in the summer.

Real Madrid remains a team frequently linked with the World Cup winners' services.

As a result, Mauricio Pochettino's side are looking to replace a player of Mbappe's magnitude with Haaland's calibre.

L'Equipe have reported that PSG have identified the 21-year-old as their replacement for Mbappe as he looks set to leave on a free transfer this summer.

Haaland has become a fearsome figure in Europe after bursting onto the scene with RB Salzburg before securing his move to Signal Iduna Park. However, his future has continued to be under the microscope after impressing in the Bundesliga.

With two years remaining on his contract at Dortmund, there are numerous reports suggesting a £68m release clause set to come active in the summer.

From a City perspective, Haaland has been a figure on the radar for a number of years. Their interest intensified after losing Sergio Aguero and failing in their efforts to sign Harry Kane.
