"People close to the situation" - Transfer expert reveals big Man City update on £113m superstar

Transfer insider Dean Jones reckons that Manchester City could try and sign Joao Felix as an alternative to Harry Kane and Erling Haaland.

Having missed out on Kane last summer, Pep Guardiola’s side are likely to look to bring in a striker of some sort ahead of next season.

Manchester City are still on course to win the domestic treble, so they’re not exactly feeling the effects of failing to bring in a striker ahead of this season.

However, City are planning on signing a marquee frontman this summer as they look to continue their recent domination of English football.

Kane could be available, although the Tottenham striker isn’t likely to decide on his future until the end of the season. Should they miss out on the England captain, they are in pole position to sign Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland, who has a £67m release clause.

If City fail to convince either of those to move to the Etihad Stadium, Jones reckons that 22-year-old, Felix, who scored against Manchester United in the Champions League earlier this week, could become an option for Guardiola.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “Manchester City have seriously looked at Joao Felix for some time, and if their main plans – Kane and Haaland – don’t work out, it would not surprise me at all to see them try to sign the Atletico Madrid star instead.

“People close to the situation have left me in no doubt about how much he is admired within City.”
