Prince William visits Wales after Kate announces major health update - live updates

Prince William is set to visit Wales the day after the Princess of Wales shared a major update on her health. She announced that she will be slowly making a return to public life but is not expected to accompany her husband today.

The Prince of Wales will be spending the day in Llanelli visiting a school, the headquarters of the Wales Air Ambulance, and Parc y Scarlets, the home of the Scarlets Rugby Union team, to celebrate the contribution of current and former Welsh female players

His visit comes the day after the Princess of Wales confirmed she has finished her chemotherapy after a 'scary' nine months. Kate will now be able to resume public engagements.

She described the year so far as 'incredibly tough' for her family as she thanked everyone for their kindness and empathy. In a video released in March, Kate confirmed she was in the early stages of treatment after a cancer diagnosis.

Chemotherapy treatment began in late February, as the palace did not confirm the type of cancer she was suffering from.
