Preston North End ready to turn to ex-Liverpool man in pursuit of Hull City win

Hull City will be hoping to continue their winning start in the Championship when they travel to Deepdale to take on Preston North End this Saturday. The Tigers came from a goal behind to beat Bristol City at the MKM Stadium on the opening day, with both goals coming from summer recruits Ozan Tufan and Jean Michael Seri to ensure a winning start to the campaign.

But the home side will be looking to build on their goalless draw with Championship new boys Wigan Athletic, and Ryan Lowe's men will have to do that without Ched Evans, following his straight red card at the DW Stadium for a mistimed tackle on Curtis Tilt in the 80th minute.

The starting line-up that featured at the DW Stadium is likely to remain the same, but with Evans' suspension, North End will be without a recognised striker on their bench, although summer recruit Ben Woodburn has played in that position during spells at fellow Championship sides, Blackpool and Sheffield United.

Of course, the only notable absentee will be striker Evans following his straight red card and subsequent three-match ban from the opening day of the season, with North End boss Ryan Lowe already eyeing up a replacement ahead of their visit from the Tigers this weekend, but nothing is yet to come to fruition.

That being said, North End still boast an array of attacking talent within their ranks, with some smart acquisitions during the summer window.

The experience of Robbie Brady coupled with the energy and hunger of on-loan Tottenham Hotspur striker Troy Parrott have seen North End potentially replace the gap left by Cameron Archer, following his successful loan spell for the last part of the season.
