‘Pressure is on them’ - Pundits agree on Man City vs Newcastle result

Manchester City have been tipped to have enough to see off Newcastle United on Saturday’s lunchtime Premier League "pressure" game.

The Blues go into the match on the back of a 3-0 win away at Bristol City in the FA Cup fifth round while the Magpies are looking to bounce back from Sunday’s disappointing Carabao Cup final defeat.

Arsenal’s comfortable 4-0 win over Everton on Wednesday has taken them five points ahead of City at the top of the table with 13 league matches left to play. The Blues bounced back from two draws against Nottingham Forest in the Premier League and RB Leipzig in the Champions League to beat Bournemouth 4-1 last weekend.

They are favourites against a Newcastle side who have now failed to win their last four games. They now find themselves four points off a top-four spot albeit have played two games fewer than Tottenham.

However, one pundit believes the pressure is all on City.

"This is a massive game for Manchester City and their title aspirations. I expect Arsenal to be five points clear and keep pushing relentlessly. Newcastle United have the quality to take the game to City on the counter.

"Newcastle are very good at the back. Even in the Carabao Cup final against Manchester United, they defended well even though they conceded two goals. But one of those goals came from a set-piece and the other one was an own goal.

"Pep Guardiola pushes players to play a lot of games and then suddenly changes the setup. So it's always tricky for young players. Phil Foden hasn't played a whole lot of minutes of late.

"But it'll be interesting to see whether or not Phil Foden has done enough to get a chance after his excellent performance
