Jack Grealish attempts to bury Miguel Almiron hatchet and other Man City moments missed vs Newcastle

Manchester City secured a crucial three points on Saturday as they beat Newcastle United 2-0.

Pep Guardiola's men had the advantage at the halfway stage thanks to yet another goal from Phil Foden. The English forward did superbly to weave his way into the box before firing a deflected effort beyond Nick Pope, after quarter-of-an-hour.

Newcastle rallied in the second half but their missed chances came back to haunt them when substitute Bernardo Silva fired home from outside the area. With another three points in the bag, below are some moments you could have missed from the victory.

City's winger is public enemy number one in Newcastle after being caught on camera criticising the Magpies' Miguel Almiron during last season's title celebrations. Grealish has since apologised for his comments but that has not stopped him from trying to make amends further.

In his pre-match comments, the 27-year-old declared Almiron as being one of the 'brilliant players' the visitors had all over the pitch. That did not stop Grealish being roundly booed by the away fans throughout the game though.

Guardiola showed that not only is he one of the best managers in world football, he also has a shot at a future career at the United Nations. Tempers looked to be flaring up during the first half when Manuel Akanji and Callum Wilson squared up to one another.

However, before things turned aggressive, Guardiola swooped in and separated the two players. Each party calmed down quickly and the moment was defused.

City's boss had to do the same again in the second half when Grealish this time became agitated with fourth official Anthony Taylor. Fortunately, that confrontation did not end with a yellow card
