Popular Greater Manchester pub reopens after six-figure makeover and rebrand

A popular pub in Sale has reopened following a six-figure renovation. The Sale, formerly known as the Hungry Horse and The Moorfield, welcomed back punters on Friday (July 12).

The public house closed its doors back in June for the makeover. It has returned as a Greene King venue, creating thirty new jobs according to the pubco, with a makeover including new, modern décor and a redesigned bar area.

Enjoying an enviable location next to Walkden Botanic Gardens, the pub is also dog-friendly.

The drinks menu features Greene King favourites like Madri, Level Head, Neck Oil, Aspall, and Estrella.

The food menu has summer offers such as pulled beef rib and beer croquettes, marmalade pork loin steak, and truffle mushroom chicken schnitzel, while the standard menu includes options like lamb shank, salmon and cheddar fish cakes, and king prawn & chorizo risotto.

Additionally, a new lunch deal offers a sandwich, side, and drink for £8.99, while the seniors menu provides a two to three course meal starting from £7.99 and there's a new kids' menu from £4.99.

Other additions include Steak Thursdays - starting at £11.50 - and Sunday lunch. Quiz nights will take place every Tuesday at 9pm and a new trader’s market will be held on the last Sunday of every month from 10am to 4pm, starting on July 28.

To celebrate reopening, The Sale will host a lively neighbourhood garden party for the community running from July 19 to July 21, with an acoustic performance from 2pm to 4pm on Sunday.

This special acoustic session is to become a monthly tradition, taking place on the last Sunday of every month.
