If you’re truly after the holiday experience this summer, one beach near Greater Manchester has just what you need to make you feel like you’re abroad. And with the glorious weather we’re experiencing this week it would be rude not to make the most of it.

A beachside-bar has been set up at Crosby beach for the summer season where you can sip on cocktails and imagine you’re in Spain or Greece as you watch the sunset over the sea. Located within a double-decker bus, the Bus Yard opened in April and will keep serving until September - so there’s still time to plan a trip.

Located at Crosby Marina, it initially began as a pop-up but in 2022 it secured a three-year agreement with Sefton Council and this summer it returned once more. It’s open everyday from 11am to 8pm.

There’s a seating area on the top deck of the bus which offers amazing views over the sea. Downstairs is a second seating area with beach huts and shelters in case it does rain (or you need to share yourself from the sun).

Bar goers can expect live music performances adding to the holiday atmosphere, refreshing drinks and delicious cocktails. But it’s not just drinks that are on offer.

The Bus Yard features an extensive menu of mouthwatering meals including burgers, loaded fries, buddha bowls and more. There are plant based and gluten free options as well. Oh, there are even dishes for dogs too so your four-legged friends can be included.

Thanks to Crosby’s location it’s the perfect spot for watching the sunset from - and it really takes a sundowner to the next level.
