Police rush to scene after car smashes into parked vehicles

There was a large emergency services response after a car hit parked vehicles in Middleton this evening. Police, firefighters and ambulance crews all rushed to Grimshaw Lane at around 7pm after a car was said to have struck a number of parked vehicles.

Four police cars and two fire engines were among those who responded. A woman was treated by paramedics and her injuries are said to be 'minor.'

A spokeswoman for Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said they were called to reports of a road traffic collision and that no one was seriously injured.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “At around 7pm on Friday 26 July, fire crews were called to reports of a road traffic collision on Grimshaw Lane, Middleton.

“One fire engine from Chadderton station was quickly mobilised to the incident, which involved a car colliding with parked vehicles. North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) attended to treat a woman for minor injuries. Fire crews helped make the area safe before handing the scene over to Greater Manchester Police (GMP).”
