Road taped off after car 'overturns' with emergency services on scene

A road in Trafford has been cordoned off this afternoon after reports that a car 'overturned' in the street.

Police, fire crews, and ambulances are on the scene on Hale Road in Altrincham on Saturday (August 10). Both Hale Road and Byron Road are closed as crews work to make the scene safe.

Greater Manchester Police said both occupants had left the vehicle. It is not yet clear whether anyone suffered injuries.

Pictures show a large emergency services presence on the road, as well as a car on its side.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “Shortly after 5.20pm today (Saturday 10 August), two fire engines from Sale and Altrincham fire stations were called to attend a road traffic collision involving two cars including one overturned vehicle on Hale Road, Altrincham.

“Crews arrived quickly, helped to remove a man who was stuck in the overturned vehicle and transferred him into the care of North West Ambulance Service. Firefighters helped to make the area safe and left after roughly 30 minutes in attendance."
