Police presence in Northern Quarter as emergency services rush to scene
Emergency services have rushed to the Northern Quarter in Manchester's city centre as they respond to an incident this evening (September 11).
Police and ambulance vehicles are at the scene outside The Millstone pub on Thomas Street, between the junctions of Tib Street and Oak Street. The area is one of the Northern Quarter's busiest, featuring popular tapas restaurant Evuna, and is close to a number of other bars.

The Manchester Evening News understands that multiple police cars and vans have been at the scene, along with North West Ambulance Service vehicles. Greater Manchester Police has been contacted for more information.

One man said he arrived as the scene was clearing but there was a large number of police and ambulance services on the scene. @MENnewsdesk
Some of the police vehicles sped away from the scene with sirens on as emergency services attended the scene, according to eyewitnesses.
Police have left the scene on Thomas Street now. It is understood a number of people were involved in a fight outside The Millstone pub. It is not clear if the pub is connected to the incident @MENnewsdesk
