Police issue urgent appeal for missing woman as they grow 'increasingly concerned' for her welfare

Police have launched an urgent appeal to find a missing woman who vanished from a Greater Manchester town.

The woman, referred only to as 'Abigail,' was last seen in the Platt Bridge area of Wigan on Friday (October 6). Police say they are increasingly concerned for her welfare.

She has been described as having dark coloured hair, of slim build and approximately 5ft 8 tall. Police have released a picture of Abigail in the hope that someone recognises her.

Anyone with information about Abigail's whereabouts is being asked to contact Greater Manchester Police immediately.

In a post X, formerly known as Twitter, the force said: "Can you help police find missing Abigail? She was last seen in Platt Bridge in Wigan yesterday (Friday 6 October).

"Officers are becoming increasingly concerned for Abigail's welfare Anyone with information should contact police on 101, quoting log MSP/06LL/0002373/23."
