Aldi, Lidl and Morrisons issue urgent 'do not eat' alerts as products recalled

Several major supermarkets have issued an urgent message to customers after fears over unsafe foods items.

The Food Standards Agency is warning people to check a number of stir fry, soups, sauces and chicken products which are being pulled from the shelves. Shoppers at Aldi, Lidl, and Morrisons, are being urged to return the items for a full refund.

Some of the items are being withdrawn due the possible presence of plastic, salmonella or allergy ingredients including gluten which are not listed on the label. Other products that are being recalled because of 'temperature control breaches, microbiological contamination risks and other potential food safety risks as a result of unsafe production procedures,' reports LancsLive.

Not every item on there will be harmful to everyone, especially in the case of allergies, but it is worth checking to make sure you are not at risk. Full details of the affected products have been listed on the FSA website, including their picture, pack size, used by date and in some cases batch code.

Shoppers who have purchased any of these items can return them to the supermarket in exchange for a full refund, either with or without a receipt. The retailers affected by the latest recall notices include Aldi, Lidl and Morrisons.

Aldi is recalling Ready Set Cook Teriyaki Beef Stir Fry because it contains wheat (gluten) which is not mentioned on the label. The FSA said this means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with coeliac disease, and/or an allergy or intolerance to wheat or
