Police incident shuts Cardiff's busy North Road at rush hour - live updates
A busy road in Cardiff is currently closed this morning due to a police incident. Traffic monitoring service, Inrix, has confirmed that the A470 North Road in the capital is currently closed in both directions at the Gabalfa flyover.
There is queueing traffic on all roads around the flyover. Traffic monitoring services show long queues on Manor Way, North Road and the A469. There are also queues on the the A48 as cars wait to access the slip roads up to the interchange. South Wales Police warned motorists to avoid the area if possible and find an alternative route for their journey.
In a post shared on X, they wrote: "We are at the scene of an incident on North Road, Cardiff. The road is currently closed on the Gabalfa flyover, and on North Road near to Gabalfa interchange. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible. Delays are expected in the area."
