Police cordon in place on Tameside street with officers on scene

A police cordon is in place on a street in Tameside this morning.

The cordon is in place on Lumn Road in Hyde. It covers a stretch of the street between Ridling Lane and Tom Shepley Street.

Pictures show a number of police vehicles stationed on the scene, with cars parked at either end of the cordon. Officers are guarding the cordon this morning.

According to eyewitnesses, police first arrived on the scene at around midnight. They have remained there through the early hours and into this morning.

The nature of the incident has not yet been confirmed. The Manchester Evening News has contacted Greater Manchester Police for details.
