Police cordon in place in Piccadilly Gardens following reports of 'fight' with man rushed to hospital - live updates
A police cordon is in place in Piccadilly Gardens following reports of a 'fight' this evening.
Officers from Greater Manchester Police were called to reports of a fight at around 6.45pm. One man was injured and has been taken to hospital, the force said.
It does not appear that his injuries are life threatening or life changing, the M.E.N. understands.

The cordon stretches from outside Nandos to the Travel Lodge, and is opposite the 216 bus stop, in the city centre. Cars and buses are able to drive past, but the pavement has been closed off whilst police investigate.
Pictures sent to the Manchester Evening News show a section of the pavement is cordoned off. An ambulance and police cars are also in attendance.
There is a number of items scattered within the cordon including rubbish, some crutches and a hat.

An eyewitness told the M.E.N. that they saw a man was taken away from the scene in the back of an ambulance.
They also said that a number of police cars and van 'raced towards Manchester Arndale' after the incident.
The M.E.N. understands that the cordon has now been cleared
The Manchester Evening News understands that it doesn’t appear that man's the injuries are life-threatening or life-changing.
A man was detained on suspicion of affray, it is understood.
A GMP spokesperson said: “At around 6:45pm this evening, June 25, police were called to reports of a fight in the Piccadilly Gardens area of Manchester. One man was injured and has been taken to hospital for treatment."
