Police appeal to find criminal wanted on recall to prison

Police have issued a public appeal to find a criminal wanted on recall to prison. George James Heaton 52, from Salford was initially released from prison in December last year.

He had been jailed for having an offensive weapon in public, and is now wanted again after breaching the conditions of his license, police said.

Greater Manchester Police shared his mugshot as part of the appeal, showing Heaton with his eyes closed. Anybody with any information regarding his whereabouts is being urged to report it to the force.

The appeal said: "Police are appealing for the public’s help to trace a wanted man from Salford. George James Heaton (10/04/1971) was released from prison in December 2022 after being jailed for having an offensive weapon in public.

"He is wanted on recall to prison after breaching the conditions of his licence."
