PNE boss Ryan Lowe emphasises importance of Spain training camp before Championship season

PNE boss Ryan Lowe is ready for a valuable training camp away in Spain.

North End will travel to Alicante on July 8 before returning on July 14, taking on La Liga side Getafe on July 12 at the Real Club de Golf Campoamor Resort. PNE fans will be welcome to attend the fixture in Spain as the club start to ramp up their preparations ahead of an important Championship campaign - Lowe's first full season as manager.

Prior to the trip to Spain, North End will take on Bamber Bridge on Saturday with a chance to get some initial minutes under their belt before the training camp begins on the continent. PNE's transfer business is already well underway with two goalkeepers tied up in the form of Freddie Woodman and David Cornell, both of whom will be ready to take part in the pre-season fixtures.

Speaking to Lancs Live, Ryan Lowe spoke of the valuable nature of the upcoming trip to Spain: "It will be (valuable) yeah.

"Training will be fantastic for us I think. It'll be three sessions a day, different types of sessions and if we can get the players in the pool before and after training as well. We'll be having some early morning runs, the heat will obviously play a bit part in it. But in our complex we have our own pool, our own gym - it is lovely, I have been before and it's one I'm really looking forward to, especially with a lovely, easy game against Getafe..."

The North End manager also fancies himself as a golfer and may well take to the green on the trip: "Do you know what I am alright, but I'm a bit all the gear no idea. I get frustrated. If there is a game of golf going with the staff and the lads, then I will definitely jump in on it yeah. But I am more looking to go there and get the right work out of the group, and get
