Philippe Clement tells Rangers stars 'don't forget' his overhaul as boss vents on international break frustration

The season started like something from the library’s horror section but the Rangers rewrite under Philippe Clement is blossoming into more of a romance.

The Gers boss could be forgiven for embracing the international break as a chance to catch his breath, stick the feet up and reflect on the incredible start he’s made to life at Ibrox. Maybe even get stuck into a good book. But the big Belgian is having none of it as the hard graft is set to continue for the Light Blues squad – as the manager is determined his players don’t lose the plot.

Clement’s tale has been lapped up by his players but he’s hoping his men don’t lose sight of the narrative he’s setting during the international interruption. He said: “I hope they don’t forget the story we are building when we are not together. That’s always the danger when they are in a new environment with other ideas, that they forget some things. That will be interesting to see when they come back.

“It’s not my favourite time as I like to keep my group together. But it’s also a moment where some players can train well but others can get a rest. We’ll take it in the best spirit to develop players for the next game.”

Clement has came through a whirlwind start with flying colours with Seven games, six wins, five victories on the bounce in the Premiership and four points out of six in the Europa League against Sparta Prague.
