Motherwell need collective effort to arrest form slump, says comeback striker Jon Obika
Motherwell striker Jon Obika admits it will take a collective effort for the Steelmen to end their sorry streak of nine games without a win.
The 33-year-old made his comeback from a hamstring injury during Saturday's Premiership clash with Hearts, but he couldn't help his side arrest their slump in form as a 2-1 defeat left them second bottom of the table during the international break.
Having taken two points from a possible 27 available, it is the small matter of a trip to Celtic Park to face the champions and current league leaders next time out on November 25 to avoid an unwanted 10-game milestone.
Obika insists everyone is in it together and it will take a team effort from those on and off the pitch to turn their fortunes around.
The Englishman, whose side haven't tasted victory since September 3, said: "We are going through a tough period at the moment but we say to one another in the dressing room that we have to look to ourselves to get us through this.
"It will be the players, the gaffer and the coaches that will get us through this as we believe in each other so that is what we have to do.
"In the first half I didn't think there was anything really in it until the goal came for Hearts. You could see in the second half that we were the side which had the impetus to take the game to Hearts.
"There are going to be frustrations as nobody enjoys losing but everyone takes it on the chin and we will come in for training and try to be more positive and it's about each of us to gee each other up.
"We know what we need to do to get these wins and to start putting points on the board."
Obika climbed off the bench in the second half against the Jambos to make his first appearance since August and he says he is determined
