Philippe Clement reveals Rangers KITMAN broke news of Dundee doubt over fixture as Ibrox club launch stinging blast

Philippe Clement revealed it was the Rangers KITMAN who informed him over issues with Dundee's Dens Park surface.

The Light Blues boss expressed his disappointment after match official Don Robertson called the game off after two pitch inspections this morning. The Belgian gaffer said NO contact was made from the Dark Blues over any potential issues either on Saturday or early Sunday morning, branding the situation "really strange". The 49-year-old also was left in disbelief at a Scottish top flight game being the only one in the country called off and says the league needs the "best pitches at the highest standards".

Rangers also released a club statement expressing their anger over the situation and reiterated the points put across by Clement. As part of the hard-hitting words they say that the showdown being the only across the senior UK leagues to not go ahead this weekend, and given it was scheduled for live coverage, reflects poorly on the Scottish game.

Clement told Sky Sports: "Very disappointed in many ways. First because we didn't know there was a problem. Nobody contacted us. Not yesterday evening, last night or this morning. It was our kit man who was here early who told us there was a problem. So that is a really strange thing for me.

"Secondly, I think it will be the only game in all the leagues in Scotland that will be postponed. That is a crazy situation. If you are playing in the Premiership that should be with the highest standards and best pitches. I think that is a logical thing because television pays a lot of money to broadcast it. Fans pay a lot of money to see games. This is the only game postponed. It is a really strange situation."
